Why Nevada County? Well, it could be the scenery, outdoor activities, strong cultural base, fun weekend events, charming homes, interesting history, family neighborhoods, and the list goes on. There is also something else, astrong sense of community. People care, they give of their time to make this an even better place to live. Volunteerism is an important aspect of life in our county from the high school football boosters to the service club that refurbishes a neighborhood park to those fundraising for the arts or the local libraries to those helping at the hospital or putting on an event to raise money for a friend in need. There is also another element – diversity. This is a community that can embrace differences. On any given day, one is apt to encounter entrepreneurs from the Bay Area, aging hippies, tech researchers, small business owners, organic farmers, inventors, bankers, artists and scientists. All call Nevada County their community.
